Family Fun Day

After a week and a half here in Texas, all we have really done is clean, unpack, and drive Dad back and forth to work. We were feeling a little stir crazy so we decided to head into town to find something to do! For those who don’t know, ‘town’ is 14 miles from our house! Not the 5 minute ride it used to be.

We decided to try a new (to us anyway) restaurant, KBobs. Although I though it was a local place, apparently it’s a chain here in Texas and other states nearby. Austin has recently been in love with Chili’s cheese fries, and since KBobs have good ones as well, they passed the ‘Austin test’. Place was very nice, has nice salad bar, good selection of foods, reasonable prices and we will be returning there.

After lunch, we decided to head into the old west.

Okay, so maybe it was the old west putt putt style, but still. Right behind KBobs is Horseshoe Junction (www.horseshoejunction.com), a family fun zone. We had already decided we were going to there for putt putt, but had not told Austin. We told him if he was good at lunch, Dad had a surprise for him. When we told him we were going to play putt putt he was super excited as he loves putt putt. So my future little Tiger Woods took to the green.

Horseshoe junction is an all in one place, they also have bumper boats, go karts, a climbing wall, jumper thing, and an arcade. Very nice place. After putt putt, we decided to get a few points put on our fun card for games and go on the bumper boats. Austin and Dad rode together and mom rode alone. Austin and Dad got Mom SOAKED! No fair!!! I felt like I was on the teacups trying to steer the boat and couldn’t get away. No pics of Mom getting wet, as I had the camera, but picture a drowned rat and that was me!

After a few games inside – very few as they were having some technical issues with them – we left to go get ice cream and head home. Austin loves his ice cream!!!

After we rested a while, we talked to Grandma and Grandpa on the phone. He’s only three, and has already mastered the art of lounging on the phone.

After that, we realized how nice the breezes were across the back yard, so we headed outside for some playtime. The weather here so far has been hot, but without the humidity of Georgia. On top of that, our house tends to get the breezes and the weather has been pretty nice, even with a high temperature.

A few random pics from playing outside.
