Part of the park includes Independence Hall, where the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed. There is also a nice walking trail, leading from the visitor center, to Independence Hall, and past the Brazos River.

After this long walk (1.6 miles!) we headed over to the picnic area for some lunch. Naturally, when we discovered the playground, Austin forgot about being hungry. :)
